FAQ
Can we hire our own pastor, organist, special music, and(or) clean up after ourselves?
Yes, but only with the permission of the pastor.
Yes, but only with the permission of the organist.
We would hope you would clean up after your reception to a certain extent, however payment for the services of our sexton is required.
Can we have our wedding and(or) reception at your church?
Please ask for a copy of our cost schedule from the church office.
I have children. Do you have a youth group?
In the past we have had a very active youth group and certainly expect to again. Right now we are looking for someone with leadership skills who is excellent working with children to step up and take the role of Youth Group Leader. This would be an unpaid but most vital role in the church life of our youth.
What are the fundamental beliefs of your church?
Explain the basic theology and tenants of Presbyterianism/Calvinism.
I’d like to join the church, what’s involved?
You’ll be asked to attend a New Members class. These classes are held when enough people inquire about membership and last about 20 minutes. The pastor explains the differences between denominations, the history of the Presbyterian denomination, and what makes being Presbyterian unique.
I’m a recovering alcoholic and I’m afraid that taking communion may start me drinking again.
No problem. We use bread and grape juice as our communion elements. We do not use wine or any other alcoholic beverage.
Am I allowed to take communion in your church?
Yes, if you believe in Christ, you are welcomed to partake. Children are also encouraged to take communion as long as they have at least a basic understanding of the significance of doing so. Once a year the youth of the church prepare and bake the bread for the service.
